Welcome 2014 and “Good-bye” 2013!

A lot happened in 2013! I had a few milestones worth mentioning… Hubby and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary last October, much to the surprise of our detractors, and with my health failing, I retired… There was just too much stress and I decided my health deserved top consideration.

I like to say there is no such thing as a mistake, as long as you learned from it. When you learn, it becomes a learning experience, and man did I have a lot of learning experiences in 2013! I lost several Facebook friends because, according to them, I am a traitor because I accepted an apology and a friend request from someone they consider an enemy. I learned they were never really friends after all. They have said as much recently.

I learned that I am an idiot when it comes to judging some people. I want to be able to trust my friends. I shared some very incriminating information about myself with one of those friends and she couldn’t wait to label me a pariah so she could use the information against me. I have to wonder if I did that as a test… which she flunked miserably. A secret is a secret, and when one gives their word to keep a secret, that promise should be honored. Only persons with no honor would break that promise and that kind of person should never be trusted. She will do the same to you too.

My son came home for Christmas! He has been on the island of Kauai for over two years now, and he was able to get a week off of work and I was able to splurge one last time as my big Christmas present to my family. To see his smile, to hold him in my arms again… it was one of the best Christmases I have had!

I think 2014 will be a good year too!
